1. The region of eastern Himalayas stretches between the Tista and Brahmaputra rivers. It occupies Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh.
2. The eastern Himalayas are also called Assam Himalayas.
3. They have a number of mountains passes such as Jelep La in Sikkim and Bum La in Arunachal Pradesh. They are the main routes to the Tibetan Capital Lhasa.
