Assam Himalayas or Eastern Himalayas.

1. The region of eastern Himalayas stretches between the Tista and Brahmaputra rivers. It occupies Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh.
2. The eastern Himalayas are also called Assam Himalayas.
3. They have a number of mountains passes such as Jelep La in Sikkim and Bum La in Arunachal Pradesh. They are the main routes to the Tibetan Capital Lhasa.
4. Due to heavy rainfall, erosion is very active on these ranges.
