(q2 – 4)/q2 = - 3

(x) (q2 – 4)/q2 = - 3

Sol. (q2 – 4)/q2 = - 3
Multiplying with q2 on both the sides, we get
q2 – 4 = - 3q2
 q2 + 3q2 – 4 = 0
 4q2 – 4 = 0
∴  4q2 + 0q – 4 = 0
Here a = 4, b = 0, c = – 4 are real numbers
where a ≠ 0

So it is a quadratic equation in variable q.
