0 and – 4

(vi) 0 and – 4

Sol. The roots of the quadratic equation are 0 and – 4.

Let  α = 0 and β = – 4

∴  α  + β  = 0 + (– 4) = – 4

and  α β  = 0 × – 4 = 0

We know that, Quadratic equation is given by,

x2 – (Sum of the roots)x + Product of the roots = 0

∴ x2 –( α  + β)x + αβ = 0

x2 – (-4)x + (0) = 0

 x2 + 4x  = 0

 The required quadratic equation is x2 + 4x  = 0
