Tips for letter writing
• | In the case of English as the first and second language, the student has to write one letter either formal or informal. |
• | Letters are broadly divided in following 2 categories. |
i) | Official or formal letter |
ii) | Personal or informal letter to your relative, friend etc |
• | Formal letters are generally shorter than personal letters. These are written to some official authority. Formal letter |
should be clear, precise and to the point. | |
• | An informal letter also should be written carefully. The receiver of the letter should be able to follow the subject correctly. |
While writing personal letter make a mention of few persons in relation. | |
• | The date on the letter should be relevant to the subject and need not be examination date. v While writing the letter |
understand the subject precisely and address it correctly to the concerned person |
