Thousands of school – going boys and girls use the suburban trains . The trains are perilously over – crowded during peak hours . As the students are eager to reach their schools in time , they manage to get into these trains which are bursting at their seams . Some of them stand on the foot – boards or near the door – way , exposing themselves to great risk . Others are jostled and squeezed by the crowd and experience much discomfort . It is with considerable difficulty that they get out of the train , with their trim uniforms crumpled .
The number of suburban trains running during peak hours should be increased . The railway authorities should also consider the feasibility of reserving a compartment for school students .
