During festivals all of you have fun while bursting crackers. When crackers burn, you will find an ash residue after they are burnt. What reaction has taken place ?
Ans. The reaction which has taken place while burning crackers is oxidation reaction. Crackers are made up of phosphorus and magnesium powder which gives the sparkling light. On burning they form an ash consisting of oxides P4O10, MgO and Mg3N2.
