Dear Banu,
Today is a holiday and I’ve had my first good sleep many
days. Our School Annual Social Gathering got over yesterday, and today we are
all enjoying a well-deserved holiday.
The last ten years were hectic – what with practice and
rehearsals and planning. I was in charge of the Guest Committee and there were
invitations to be printed and sent, special chairs to be hired, nameplates to
be made and so on. Besides, I was a participant in the Koli dance. Rehearsal
days were indeed tiring. Our dance teacher was a perfectionist, and would take
practices till late night.
You will be pleased to know I won the ‘Best Girl’ Award.
Mummy and Daddy were so thrilled and proud. The function went off like
clockwork. Mr.Tamane, the DSP, was our Chief Guest. He gave an enlightening
speech and his wife gave away the prizes. Then followed the variety
entertainment programme. Our Koli dance was well appreciated. The principal’s
announcement of a two-day holiday was greeted with loud cheers! We have two
days to relax and let the strain of the last ten days wear off.
Do write to me soon.
Your loving friend,
ABC
