Reliance Jio SIM Available to Everyone From September 5, Free to Use Till December 31

At the Reliance AGM taking place in Mumbai, Chairman Mukesh Ambani just announced the launch of the Jio network, and its incredibly low Jio 4G tariffs – free voice calls, no roaming charges, and just Rs. 50 per GB, which will go down to Rs. 25, if your usage is higher. Reliance Jio will launch for all users on Monday, September 5, and Ambani stated that it will be free for all users until the end of this year, December 31, 2016.

Talking about how India is used to the idea of “Gandhigiri”, Ambani added, “now let us see what people do with ‘datagiri’,” and announced that Jio data will be completely free to use until December 31, 2016. At the same time, the various Jio apps and services will be free to use until December 2017, and voice calls are going to be completely free.

At the AGM, Ambani had talked about how data is oxygen in the modern world, and stated that for the success of digital India, data has to be made affordable to users. Acording to Ambani, Jio will cover 90 percent of the population by March 2017, and in the meantime, it will be offered completely free – something that will also help to test interconnects with other networks, Ambani said.
