While driving towards the office, the commuters were met with numerous unusual traffic jams. The irony is that the jams were caused as a result of a special drive against the pollution causing vehicles launched by the Chennai traffic police.

After Chennai was included in the list of cities with the highest air pollution in India, the authorities tried to come down hard on the vehicles  emitting pollution. But the failure in the right planning spoiled the drive. The biggest mistake that the authorities made was barricading the important intersections of the city which created a havoc on roads.

The problems became so severe that the drive had to cancelled midway. Hope the authorities will come prepared the next time.
